PUPILS at Highercroft Children's Centre, Blackburn, have joined its management team.
The centre, in Highercroft Road, provides childcare and nursery education as well as other services such as family support services and opportunities for adult learning and training.
It is part of a network of 13 children's centres across the borough which will be completed later this year.
Now youngsters who use the centre are being encouraged to join in its management with the help of a soft toy.
The centre has adopted a doll called Wally and three- to five-year-old children have been asked to write letters or draw pictures to tell him things they like and don't like about the centre.
They can also take photos and express themselves through art, drama and music in a bid to bolster their confidence, talk about their feelings and opinions and make decisions, which will help them as they move on to school.
