HYNDBURN'S disc-parking scheme has been dumped by the council - although free parking in the borough will remain.
Leader of Hyndburn Council Coun Peter Britcliffe said: "People have been telling me that they love the free parking in Hyndburn, but they are not so keen on the parking disc scheme.
"So Hyndburn visitors will be happy to know that they don't need to display a disc when parking in our car parks, although they need to be aware that there is still a three-hour parking limit."
He added: "Free parking attracts visitors to the town and we are delighted that we are able to support both retailers and shoppers with a hassle free parking scheme."
