‘Vulnerable’ victim punched and kicked by gang in Blackburn park

A GANG of youths punched and kicked a ‘vulnerable’ man in a Blackburn park before stealing his bike.
The 36-year-old victim was cycling through Witton Park when he was pushed to the ground and attacked by the gang.
The man, who has learning difficulties and has been described as vulnerable, was stopped by the youths as he tried to cross a footbridge at around 5.20pm on Sunday.
Police said the group of between six and nine Asian youths dragged the victim from his bike by his jacket before punching and kicking him while he was on the ground in the Preston Old Road park.
The attackers, who are all thought to be under 18, then stole his £300 red and black Apollo ‘Phaze’ gentleman’s mountain bike with white writing on it.
Detective Sergeant Rob Anderson from Blackburn CID urged people to be vigilant while walking through the park.
He said: “It is always a concern for us when people are victimised in public parks and this man has been left extremely upset and shaken by this incident.
"But we would like to reassure the public that there is hardly any crime in Witton Park and we will ensure that we work hard to ensure that no patterns develop in the area.
“Although there is no need for the public to be afraid, we would urge them to be extra vigilant whilst walking through the park with valuable items in their possession.”

Am not sure but if a group of white lads gather together in Mill Hill or anywhere in Blackburn police are on them in a shot to break them up.
So why are we contantly reading about groups of asians causing trouble throughout the town.
And why are the police not treating there gatherings in the same fashion as they would with anyone else?
And while the asian youth are doing this sort of senseless bullying they must realise that they are alienating
themselves and their families from the rest of the society.They are the ones who are fueling racism in are society and these are supposed to be our future.
Am affraid that this attack on such a vunerble sole white lad with learning difficulties as sickened me with rage and if the govrnment expects me or my family to intergrate with animals like the asians are proving themselves to be they must be joking.
I can't get my family away from Blackburn quick enough its become impossible to stay safe anywhere in this town.

Once again you fail to provide an objective service to your comments page. Why have a comments page that fails to reflect the opinions of your readers if you remove anything which offends those delicate eye behind those rose tinted glasses?
It is YOUR paper that has printed stories about attacks in Corporation, Queens and Witton Park. It is also your paper which repeatedly publishes articles praising the fine and upstanding asian/muslim community. It is therefore only fair to point out that elements of the asian/muslim community are not so fine and upstanding and commit acts of crime on a regular basis just like other sections of our community.

It may only be a minority of Asians, FOR NOW, until others realise that they can get away with committing racist attacks against white people without any consequences.

Other than on the grounds of identification of the offenders, there was no need to use the word Asian at all. If it had simply been reported as nine youths committing this cowardly act all those commenting would have been united in their condemnation. Instead we have hardly any posts critical of their actions but many using the story as a vehicle to infer reverse racism and preferential treatment for the Muslim community.
Life is short. We have to live together. Get on with it for God's sake. My Asian friends despise gangs like this as much as me and have no affinity with lawlessness whatsoever. If some of you opened your eyes you might discover we have more in common with our Asian friends than some of your ignorant minds might think.

Not because I’m unapproachable or because I’m some knuckle dragging racist buffoon, but because we have very, very little in common. We have virtually no social activities that promote interaction.
What I can tell you for a fact is that the place is dirtier, the parking is pathetically slap dash and the drug dealing is rampant.

The issue here once again for the hard of thinking, is not Asian versus white but criminals against victims. We need to unite against any form of anti-social behaviour or criminality by demanding proportionate sentencing for the first time in my memory. Then we can rid our streets of those making them a no-go area for decent, law-abiding people. Black or white, Muslim or Christian, gay or straight, if you commit a crime you should reasonably be expected to do the time.

What about when a "white" man is wanted on crimewatch and that article ia on here? You dont hear asians being prejudice and making comments do you?

I believe there is good and bad in all cultures but by stoking the fire and not saying what kind of attack it is, is only breeding hatred. If it was 9 white males dragging 1 asian man off his bike it would be reported as racist but not the other way round.
Tell things the way they are and stop believing that 1 culture deserves to know the truth and the other doesn't.

Your example is correct. It is wrong for a culture to set up in isolated pockets within another country and make it their own, whether it is the Costa del Sol or Blackburn, Burnley or Bradford.
What really screws up your argument is that the Brits move their for a better life, yet insist on calling the UK ‘home’, visit ‘home’ regularly, and most importantly, still support England football and cricket teams.

The issue here once again for the hard of thinking, is not Asian versus white but criminals against victims. We need to unite against any form of anti-social behaviour or criminality by demanding proportionate sentencing for the first time in my memory. Then we can rid our streets of those making them a no-go area for decent, law-abiding people. Black or white, Muslim or Christian, gay or straight, if you commit a crime you should reasonably be expected to do the time.

Realistically though, if the guy on the bike was asian, would he have been attacked?
If the hippy/rocker outside college had been asian, would he have been attacked?
