NELSON and Colne College hairdressing student Lauren Gaskell had a taste of television glitz and glamour working on the set of a new comedy.
Lauren gained work experience as a hairdresser and make-up artist for the new channel four show.
Lauren, who is on a level two hairdressing course, has a one-day a week work placement at Dale Neal hairdressers, of Barrowford, and was offered the chance to work with Dale on the set of a pilot episode of Wake-Up England, a comedy about a failing breakfast TV show.
Lauren was responsible for doing the hair and make-up of the actors and actresses, including former Hollyoaks and Casualty star James Redmond, and The Office funny man Ewen Macintosh.
Lauren said, “It was an amazing experience and I am so grateful to Dale for letting me go along to help on set.
“Dale has a lot of experience of working on different television productions and has worked quite often with Dash Productions in Manchester.
“I always liked the idea of working in the film and television industry, but this experience has made me realise it’s definitely what I want to do.”
