A TOWN crier will carry on a centuries’ old tradition this weekend.
Great Harwood Civic Society announced the traditional ‘Crying of the Great Harwood Fair’ will take place on Sunday.
Town Crier, Rawden Kerr will take on the task on Great Harwood’s Town Square.
Hyndburn Mayor Colette McCormack will attend, accompanied by Civic Society members and members of Hyndburn Council.
The Civic Society has invited residents of Great Harwood and Hyndburn to join in the colourful and historical ceremony, which commemorates the date the market charter was granted to Great Harwood in 1318.
