YOUNGSTERS in East Lancashire have the chance to compete in the jobs market under a new initiative.

With A-levels results out this week young jobseekers could get ahead in the jobs market by becoming a member of the 7 Day Jobs Challenge on Facebook.

The 7 Day Jobs Challenge page will host information, discussions and top tips about how to get one of the half a million jobs that are on offer.

Celebrities including Reggae Reggae sauce entrepreneur Levi Roots and Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry will advise young people taking part in the Challenge about their jobsearch.

Steve Johnson, Jobcentre Plus district manager for Lancashire, said: “We know that many young people are motivated to get a job, but don’t always know the best way to go about it.

"By doing something each day and following the tips and advice on things like how to write a CV or set up your own business, they can get it right from the start.”
