A LOOSE cow ‘running amok’ in a busy town centre road was tasered by police.
The animal was running at vehicles and pedestrians on Barbara Castle Way, Blackburn, on Saturday.
Police were called around 1.15pm after a vehicle and trailer overturned in the chaos.
The cow was heading towards Preston New Road and was chased by two police officers, Sergeant Louis Boyle and PC Matt Whitworth.
It was tasered and brought under control.
A police spokesman said: “The cow suffered no ill effects from the taser.
“It was shepherded into a small compound for the farmer to collect it.”
