AN ELDERLY man was rescued from a house fire in Bacup last night.
He was taken to Rochdale Infirmary and treated for smoke inhalation as a precaution.
He was given a check-up and later released.
The house fire in Newline started at 8pm.
Crews wore two sets of breathing apparatus to get into the house and then cleared the smoke using a ventilation unit.
Twelve firefighters were at the scene for 45 minutes.
