WORLD superbike champions Carl Fogarty and Neil Hodgson are fronting a new drive to get children into the sport.

The racing heroes have joined the likes of other world champs like Mike Hailwood, James Toseland, Nicky Hayden and Troy Corser to get youngsters riding on two wheels sooner.

Kiddimoto has announced that Blackburn Bullet Carl Fogarty and Burnley-born Neil Hodgson have joined its Hero range and have named bikes after them.

And as an additional road safety drive a specially designed helmet based on Fogarty’s distinctive helmet with his trademark No.1 on the side has also been launched.

Kiddimoto is a balance bike suitable for two to six year olds. They are wooden bikes made from natural birch plywood.

Hodgson said: “Originally I went to see Kiddimoto to buy one for my son, so to actually now have my own 100 per cent Hodgson Kiddimoto in the Hero range is mega.

“It’s great to have our legacy as World Champions transformed into the Hero range for our children to enjoy.”

Fogarty added: “I love these helmets – it’s just a shame it doesn't fit me.

"It’s a perfect addition to the Foggy Kiddimoto bike and I’m sure kids will love the look as well as feel safe in them.”

“Kiddimotos aren’t just toys, they are a fantastic fun way to help children learn to steer and balance on two wheels from a very young age, meaning that they can move to a bicycle or starter motorcycle much younger.
