VANDALS have caused hundreds of pounds of damage to a hair salon after smashing the front window of the property.

Emma Cushion, 35, spoke of her horror after discovering the wreckage of her business yesterday.

Divas, based in Railway Road, was targeted by brick-throwing yobs.

Emma, who has run the business for the past nine months, said she had been left heartbroken by the incident.

She said: “I had a call from my friend early to tell me what had happened. It was a real mess.

“They had not managed to get in to the building because of the strengthened glass but there was glass everywhere.

“It looks like whoever did it has used a brick and a large piece of stone.

“It is clear that they were trying to put the window through.

“The front window is a complete mess. I’ve been able to clear up all of the debris inside but it will cost a lot to replace the front window.”

She said she had been left mystified why someone had targeted her business. She added: “Nothing like this has happened before.

“We are an up and coming salon. You try your hardest and put your all in to your business and then something like this happens.

“It is normally nice around here, it’s not like we’re in Tottenham!”

Police said the incident is being investigated.

Yesterday afternoon officers visited the salon.
