FRESH attempts are being made to reopen a neighbourhood base in Barnoldswick three years after it closed.
Coates Community Centre was axed in 2008 after it was discovered essential works to the kitchen, heating and electrics would cost £20,000.
But now tentative steps have been taken to relaunch the venue and several groups, including police, councillors and other agencies, have expressed an interest in staging sessions there.
The West Craven area committee potentially has £5,000 to contribute towards the centre from its capital programme, if a management committee can be formed.
