ELEVEN special inspectors have been appointed to oversee Lancashire’s Special Constabulary.
The 11 volunteers inspectors will manage the 443 special sergeants and constables.
In eastern division, which covers Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, Special Insp Gareth Mead will take on the role. One post is vacant.
Special Insp Laura Kendall and Special Insp Andrew Blades will oversee the Special Constabulary in Pennine division, which covers Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
For southern division, which covers Chorley, it will be Special Insp Peter Allen, Special Insp Jonathan Norris and Special Insp Dave Massam.
Mr Walters said: “Joining the specials can give a person a great sense of fulfilment. It is a rewarding role which gives them a chance to get involved with the community and make a real difference to the people living there.”
