A JURY considering whether a former army cadet murdered his girlfriend at a supported housing complex is due to resume its deliberations today.
Daniel Lancaster, 24, has denied murdering Anna Banks, 23, at the Centaur Court complex off Hawley Street, Colne, last December.
Prosecutors allege Lancaster throttled the former classroom assistant because he found out she was in contact with an ex-partner.
Lancaster said he strangled Miss Banks as part of a sex game but denied wanting to kill his girlfriend of four months. He has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denied murder.
Defence counsel has dismissed a supposed confession to a cellmate, at Preston Prison, as a fabrication.
The couple lived in separate flats at Centaur Court. Miss Banks had slight learning difficulties and Lancaster was being treated for a drugs-related psychosis.
