THE chief executive of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce has backed a campaign encouraging businesses to offer their workers free health checks.
Organised by Blackburn with Darwen Care Trust Plus, the checks can pick up on any risks associated with conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and kidney disease.
Mike underwent a check, including assessments of high cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
He said: “The tests only took 20 minutes, but they can reveal deep-seated, underlying health problems.
Health is a serious issue for you and your workforce.
“Also, a healthy and happy workforce can increase productivity.”
NHS nurses can visit businesses and carry out health checks on site.
They are open to 35 to 74-year-olds who have a GP in Blackburn with Darwen and have not already been diagnosed with heart disease, kidney disease, or diabetes.
