TWO new unofficial traveller sites have been set up in East Lancashire.
The latest incidents follow weeks of different sites appearing across the area.
Yesterday a group with 12 caravans were at Shadsworth Business Park in Blackburn, while another large group were near Nelson and Colne College.
It follows travellers at Haslingden Leisure Centre, Green Lane, Blackburn, Towneley Park, Burnley, and Cliviger.
The travellers set up camp in Blackburn, near Cobham Defence Communications overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.
Workers said the group managed to get through a barrier that had been left insecure but were moved on after efforts from the firm’s security.
They were later spotted on the car park of Darwen Railway Station.
One worker at the Shadsworth site said: “We can’t believe they got on to the park because it is normally left locked up.
"I don’t think they were going to stay for long after the security had a word with them.”
In Barrowford a group has now been in place near the college site for three days. There is no indication so far whether action is to be taken against them in a bid to clear the area.
Last month there were also travellers camps set up illegally in Accrington, Huncoat and Bacup.
Councils can apply for court orders to move them on if they are on public land.
