PEOPLE in East Lancashire are being given an incentive to get fit with the launch of a new scheme.

The Active Network offers will see everyone who signs up for membership at St Peter’s Centre, Burnley, or Padiham Leisure Centre allowed access to 17 other leisure facilities.

Created by six local authorities and leisure trusts in Pennine Lancashire, it will help over 500,000 people to enjoy physical activity and use their local leisure centres.

With a choice of 14 swimming pools, 15 gyms and over 150 exercise classes per week, the Active Network membership scheme hopes to engage a greater number of people in regular activity.

Catering for those who simply like to relax, the membership allows access to over 15 steam rooms, saunas and spa facilities.

The six councils and leisure trusts involved in the Active Network are comprised of Hyndburn Leisure Trust, Roefield Leisure, Rossendale Leisure Trust, Burnley Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council and Pendle Leisure Trust.
