FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Darwen home around 6am on Sunday after neighbours complained about a man burning rubbish in his garden.

Officers attended the house in Hindle Street to ask the man to put out the fire.

Don Brady, acting crew manager, said: “Although he was burning the waste in a brazier and it was a controlled fire, it was causing a nuisance to neighbours because smoke was drifting through their windows and into their homes.

“We would like to ask people to be more considerate.”
