AN ADRENALINE junkie who has a rare neurological condition jumped out of an plane dressed as Superman to raise money for charity.

And Marek Krolik has beaten his £400 fundraising target reaching £596 for Ataxia UK.

The 26-year-old project worker, who lives in Accrington said that he got ‘such a buzz’, he would be jumping again next year.

He said: “It was amazing. Words can not describe what I felt. I want to go back again while I can and just carry on doing this.

“Friends came to see me and think I am crazy, they all keep calling me an adrenaline junkie.”

Marek, who was diagnosed with Ataxia in 2005 said that the disease that affects speech, balance and co-ordination is slowly taking its toll.

He said: “I used to be so healthy and now I can’t do what I used to be able to do, my legs are giving up slowly and I can hardly walk.”

Ataxia is progressive and gets worse with time, until people become entirely dependent on others for all their needs.

Marek added: “People have supported me and I am raising money for a charity that is close to my heart. I hope one day there will be a cure for Ataxia.”

Because of bad weather in May the jump was postponed and Marek jumped 13,000 feet on Sunday with the Black Knights Parachute team in Lancaster.

But the keen Manchester United supporter, who is originally from Poland, has lived in Hyndburn for twelve years said that anything is possible.

He added: “One day I will be in a wheelchair, but I am going to skydive as many times as possible before that happens.

"I will be going higher next time to 19,000 feet. The sky’s the limit!”
