A young motorcyclist who died after coming off his bike in Chorley has been described as “one in a million”.

Kieran-Dean Forster, 25, from Astley Village sustained fatal head injuries when he lost control of his motorbike just before 10pm last Thursday, on Ackhurst Road.

Police said they believe Mr Forster came off his bike on a bend close to the Tesco supermarket, near the junction with Common Bank Lane, heading towards Coppull.

Mr Forster, a former student at Parklands High School, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to Chorley Hospital where he was pronounced dead around an hour after the incident.

Ackhurst Road was closed to traffic for around three hours after the accident and police tape was placed around shrubbery next to the pavement.

Numerous floral tributes have been left at the scene and messages of support and tributes have been left on Mr Forster’s Facebook page.

Keiran’s mother Gail Forster, wrote to his friends: “Thankyou all for your memories and messages.

“At the moment these are all that are helping us get through this.

“Kieran is and always will be one in a million. Thank you to each and everyone of you.”

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who saw Mr Forster riding his motorcycle in the minutes leading up to the incident.

Inspector Kevin Otter said: "Mr Forster has unfortunately come off the motorcycle and sustained injuries which have proved fatal on arrival at hospital.

“We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area or who saw the motorcycle being driven around that time to contact police on 0845 1253545.”
