CAMPAIGNERS have won a fight to prevent a residents-only parking zone near Walverden Primary School, Nelson.
People living in the Holly Street area asked for a permit scheme, but other neighbours claimed the plans would only shift the problem elsewhere.
Sixty-three per cent of those who responded to a council survey were against the move and Nelson area committee rejected the bid.
