THE line-up for a summer music festival in Burnley is set to be revealed in the next 48 hours, organisers have said.

Bosses at LiveWyre said contracts were very close to being signed, and tickets could go on sale next week for the Towneley Park jamboree on August 13.

It comes as council chiefs put together plans for how to cope with the increased number of visitors and traffic over the festival weekend.

A spokesman for Live-Wyre said: “Contracts are currently going back and forth with the acts but, all being well, it has got to be this week that they will be signed and finalised, hopefully in the next 48 hours.

"After that tickets will go on sale, hopefully next week.

“We have employed experienced specialist companies to assist with all aspects of the planning for this event and we are confident the event will run smoothly and we will minimise any impact on local residents.

"However, we are aware that people will have questions regarding the event and we are keen to discuss these matters with them and put any concerns they may have to rest.”

Representatives from Burnley Council and LiveWyre will be at Towneley Hall, bet-ween 3pm and 6pm on Thursday May 26 to answer questions from residents at a drop-in session to learn more about plans for the event.

Mick Cartledge, director of community services at Burnley Council, said: “Further detailed plans have now been developed for the production, operation, travel and traffic management plans for the event and we will be pleased to meet any-one who wants to ask a question, or raise a concern regarding the event.

“There is no need to make an appointment to see the organisers and people should feel free to call in at any time on the afternoon.”

Acts thought to be have been approached to appear at the fest-ival include McFly, the Saturdays and N-Dubz, as well as dance group Diversity, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

It is thought N-Dubz have been asked to headline the event, which was revealed to be taking place last month.
