MARKET bosses in Colne are targeting young entrepreneurs to help drum up business.
Liberata, which runs the town’s market on behalf of Pendle Council, is offering ‘starter schemes’ to attract new traders.
The sweeteners could include help with rent or advice from the market’s management team.
Bosses say the market now has one of the widest ranges of stalls in Lancashire, with outlets selling pet food, children’s clothing, old-fashioned sweets and chocolates, beauty products and gifts.
Market manager Ian Varley said: “Over the past few months demand for space in the market has been extremely high and we've welcomed a number of new traders.
“Currently a lot of people are seriously thinking about starting their own business and a market stall is the perfect place to do so.
“It's ideal for anyone who wants to make a living out of a hobby or skill such as making handmade cards or gifts.”
Mr Varley said all new traders were sure of a ‘friendly and welcoming atmosphere’ that also helps lure in shoppers.
