LANCASHIRE’S new regeneration body has appointed business bosses and politicians to lead it.

The county-wide Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), created after rows over what parts of Lancashire it should cover, will be chaired by supermarket chief Edwin Booth.

East Lancashire representatives on the board include Chamber of Commerce chief executive Mike Damms, Euravia managing director Dennis Mendoros, Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Kate Hollern, and Ribble Valley Council leader Michael Ranson.

Other leaders include bosses from BAE Systems, BT, and outsourcing firm Enterprise.

Former North West Development Agency chief Steven Broomhead, and Lancashire County Council leader Geoff Driver are also on the board.

Coun Driver said: “We want to harness the expertise we have so we can punch above our weight and become recognised as a business leader throughout the North West region.”

The LEP is designed to bid for Government regeneration cash and make decisi-ons on business strategy.
