A KNIFEMAN who attacked a terrified teenager in a dispute over a computer game has been jailed for two years.
Burnley Crown Court heard how dad John Finnie, 23, had set about Anthony Hall after turning up at his home in Accrington, armed with the steel knife.
Mr Hall, 19, who thought he was going to be stabbed in the onslaught, had the sharp end pointed in his direction and was hit with the weapon.
Finnie, who has a record for violence, had arrived at the property with the child who owned the game and another youngster was also in the property whilst the trouble went on.
The defendant, of Exchange Street, Accrington, had admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing an article with a blade or sharp point, in January.
Sentencing Finnie, Judge Graham Knowles, QC, told him knives and things like knives maimed and could kill and his behaviour had been planned, sustained and intolerable.
Kevin Preston, for Finnie, said he acted out of a sense of obligation to the boy.
His judgment was wholly impaired by alcohol, which appeared to be a factor in his offending behaviour.
