THE family of a six-year-old cancer victim are backing a House of Parliament petition to raise awareness of neuroblastoma.
Madison Allan, of Lords Crescent, Lower Darwen, has suffered from the aggressive ‘spaghetti-like’ childhood cancer since she was 10 months old. She is now deemed as terminally ill, but is undergoing last-chance treatment in Germany after her family set up a £250,000 appeal.
The petition, which has been started by Operation Child Appeal and has over 3,000 signatures, is aimed at getting the government to raise awareness of the condition and increase research.
Madison’s grandmother Alison Foster said: “By the time a lot of children are diagnosed, they’re already terminally ill – and we need to make people more aware of symptoms.”
