A CANDLE started a blaze in a house in Haslingden yesterday.
Crews from Rawtenstall were called to the house, in Anemone Drive, at 2.20pm.
The owner of the house had left the house to walk her dog when the candle, on an upstairs landing, started the fire.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and ventilation unit to tackle the small fire.
A carpet and some curtains were badly damaged. The upstairs of the house was smoke-logged.
