DARWEN Vale High School has appointed an interim headteacher.
John Lawson, who has previously led the school as interim head, will takeover at the Holden Fold-based school following the suspension of headteacher Hilary Torpey.
He will be supported by associate headteacher Jean McGrath.
Mrs Torpey was suspended in order to investigate allegations that staff had not been supported when dealing with unruly pupils.
Mr Lawson has recently undergone surgery.
Until his return, Mrs McGrath will be temporarily leading the school.
