FIVE cars were involved in an accident on the A56 in Rawtenstall at just after 6pm this evening.
Police said one of the cars went into the central reservation on the northbound side of the road causing the other vehicles to crash into each other.
The drivers and passengers in the vehicles suffered minor injuries.
The road was re-opened within an hour.
