A NELSON man was found dead at a friend’s home just hours after a row with his partner, an inquest heard.

Burnley Coroner’s Court was told that Christopher Pagani, 30, had fallen out with Mary Ann McCannon and she left him at a home they were sharing, in Cannon Street, Nelson.

The house belonged to their friend Joy Ellison, who had moved in with her partner, but allowed the pair to sleep at the property on occasion.

Ms Ellison had taken back her keys to the house, forcing the couple, both drug users, to break in, the inquest was told.

When she arrived there on October 30, to collect more of her possessions, she found Mr Pagani’s body in a bedroom.

Pathologist Dr Zuhir Twage confirmed the deceased had a high level of morphine in his body, along with some amphetamines. He died from morphine toxicity.

East Lancashire Coroner Richard Taylor recorded an accidental death verdict.
