LABOUR gained Hyndburn and brought Rossendale and Chorley into no overall control - but the Conservatives and Lib Dems can point to positives too after all today's results were declared.
Here are the highlights of today's four counts:
- Labour have strengthened their grip on Blackburn with Darwen
- The Liberal Democrats remain largest in Burnley, bucking the heavy losses seen elsewhere
- It's tight in Pendle with the Conservatives the largest party, Labour second and Liberal Democrats third.
- Labour have clawed back the Conservatives' substantial majority in Rossendale
Results for three local councils were counted overnight with the Tories losing Hyndburn to Labour and Chorley to no overall control but strengthening their grip on Ribble Valley.
Here's what happened:
- Chorley goes from Conservatives to no overall control
- Labour seize Hyndburn from the Tories
- Conservatives strengthen in Ribble Valley
