A BRAVE man is to jump out of a plane dressed as superman before a rare neurological condition takes over his body.

Marek Krolik, who has Ataxia, has set himself a sky diving challenge, to raise money for a dedicated charity, which aims to find a cure for the disease.

And the 26-year-old project worker, based at Accrington Community Training Centre, said he was ready for his challenge having shed three stones.

He said: "I am doing this to help people like me who suffer from Ataxia, and to show that it doesn't have to stop you from doing exciting things.

"People look at me when I am walking and think that I am drunk, but it is not the case."

Ataxia is a condition that affects balance, speech, and co-ordination.

"It is progressive and gets worse with time, until people become entirely dependent on others for all their needs.

More than 10,000 people in the UK have the condition and there is currently no cure.

Marek, who is originally from Poland, but has lived in Hyndburn for 12 years, will do the skydive on May 28 in Lancaster.

He will dive at 10,000ft with the Black Knights Parachute team, whilst being dressed in a superman outfit.

He said: "One day I will probably be in a wheelchair so I have this to do.

"Please sponsor me and give generously to a cause which is very close to my heart."
