A TEENAGER banned from being drunk in public was caught out after staggering up to a police officer and asking the time.
Burnley magistrates heard how Mark Roberts, 19, was the subject of a two year anti-social behaviour order imposed in October 2004. Under the order, he must not enter Scott Park, Burnley, associate with named people or be drunk in a public place.
The court was told in the early hours of Saturday the defendant staggered up to a police officer dealing with an incident on Hammerton Street, Bacup. He was arrested. It was the second time the defendant had flouted the order.
Dylan Bradshaw, defending, said Roberts must not give the appearance of being drunk and must avoid the police.
Roberts, of Cog Lane, Burnley, admitted breaching the anti-social behaviour order. He was fined £60, with £50 costs by the bench who said he had not been offensive or disorderly and had spent a night in the cells.
