FOUR people from Burnley have been arrested after police found cannabis during early morning raids.
Police officers carried out three raids in Rawson Street and St Cuthbert Street, in the Queensgate area of Burnley and in Wycoller Avenue, in Brun-shaw shortly after 8.30am yesterday.
The drug warrants were served by Burnley’s Neighb-ourhood Policing team after they received tip-offs from the local community.
Officers left the scene with a quantity of drugs thought to be the Class B drug, Cannabis.
Tests are now being carried out to determine what the subst-ance is.
A 50-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman both from Burnley were arrested along with another 37-year-old woman from Burnley for possession of a controlled Class B drug with intent to supply.
A 28-year-old Burnley man was also arrested for being concerned in the supply of a controlled class B drug which was cannabis in all cases.
All four people arrested are still being questioned by police.
These latest raids come as police launch a major crack-down on drugs in the town.
Since the operation was launched at the beginning of March, more than 40 people have been arrested in conne-ction with burglary, theft and drugs supply in the town.
