SCHOOLS from Blackburn and Darwen got to grips with business and commerce during a trip to the Lake District.
Pupils from Witton Park High School, Blackburn; Pleckgate High School, Blackburn, and Darwen Vale High School, Darwen took part in a pilot-summer school run by business charity Young Enterprise.
The three-day event at Spirit Summer School in Newby Bridge allowed the 14-16-year-old participants the chance to learn about business and commerce from business volunteers.
They also experienced the great outdoors taking part in canoeing, obstacle courses and football coaching.
The scheme is designed to improve team working, group decision-making skills and included classes on launching and marketing a social enterprise.
