RUBBISH and recycling collections in Pendle are to continue as normal over the bank holidays in April and May.

David Walker, waste services manager, said: “Collection teams will be working as normal during the bank holidays which means there will be no disruption to refuse and recycling collections for Pendle residents and businesses.”

Residents should put their bins out as normal, before 7.30am on their collection day.

Carole Taylor, waste and recycling co-ordinator, said: “We’re trying to make the recycling vehicle rounds more efficient.

“Residents can help us to do this by only putting out their brown bins when they are half full or more.

“This means we may be able to reduce the number of recycling vehicles we have out on the roads, which will save us money and help us to reduce our carbon footprint.”
