‘PRINCE William’ and ‘Kate Middleton’ married a month early at a special ceremony in a Blackburn high school.
Our Lady and St John Catholic Arts College staged a mock wedding with their very own Prince William, Callum Boyle, and Coleen McCullion as Kate Middleton.
Dressed in a teacher’s wedding dress and a teaching assistant’s suit the 11-year-old pair were ‘married’ by a student who took on the role of priest.
The year seven class’s teacher Emily Haddock said they picked students who looked most like the Prince and Kate.
After weeks of preparations a classroom was transformed into a church with its very own stained glass windows and altar ready for the ceremony enactment.
Wedding invitations were created and sent out with students playing key people such as Prince Harry, the Queen, Prince Philip, David and Victoria Beckham as well as Kate’s sister Piper as maid of honour.
Miss Haddock, who is also the sixth form special educational needs co-ordinator, said: “I am really proud of them.
“They worked really hard and it went really well.”
The ceremony had been organised as part of a school project exploring the theme of England.
