THE woman who managed the £3.2million restoration of Towneley Park has left Burnley Council.
Annette Birch has taken up a new role as project manager for a Heritage Lottery Fund scheme to restore a cemetery in Liverpool.
Annette spent seven years as project manager on the Towneley Park scheme.
Simon Goff, head of green spaces and amenities at the council, said: “Annette did a really great job managing the restoration of Towneley Park.
“The project has transformed the park, providing new facilities for visitors, such as toilets and car parking, and restoring historic landscape features such as the pond, ornamental gardens and woodland.”
Maureen Frankland, chair of the Friends of Towneley, said: “We are all really sad to see Annette leave as she worked very closely with the Friends and has done so much to improve Towneley for the benefit of everyone.”
