LANCASHIRE Constabulary’s retiring director of resources has been presented with his MBE by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

David Brindle, who was awarded the MBE in the New Year’s Honours List, travelled to London with his family to receive the medal last week.

Mr Brindle retired on March 31, after nearly 16 years with Lancashire Constabulary.

He said: “It was such a great honour to be awarded the MBE. I’ve been lucky enough to work for a fantastic organisation with some top quality people in it. I see this award as a testament to their efforts as much as my own.”

Chief Constable Steve Finnigan, said: “David has made an invaluable contribution to the success of Lancashire Constabulary.

“In his role as the director of resources, amongst other things, he has ensured that we have exercised financial prudence, which I believe will help us to better navigate our way through the next very challenging four years.”

Ian Cosh replaced Mr Brindle on Friday.
