ULTIMATE fighter Michael Bisping has vowed to make Jorge Rivera “eat his words” tomorrow night after he posted a series of videos insulting him, his accent and even his girlfriend online.

Rivera, 38, put several of the controversial videos on YouTube mocking the Brit as UFC 127 draws near.

But ‘The Count’, who lives in Clitheroe, has refused to retaliate, saying: ''I haven't felt the need to fire back with insults, as I feel my punches and kicks will do more than enough damage this weekend.

“It's pathetic really, he's been trying to get a response out of me and anger me and throw me off my game plan.

''All he is really doing is making me more focused and train harder.

“It's absolutely ridiculous, I think he's crossed the line on some occasions.

“But the worst thing to do to me is make me angry - he's going to eat his words.”

The pair will square up inside the Octagon in front of 19,000 fans at the Acer Arena, Sydney, Australia, with millions more watching live on TV.

Bisping, 31, fought in Australia last February when he lost to Wanderlei Silva. But he has won his last two fights and hopes tomorrow’s return Down Under will take his mixed martial arts record to 22-3.

At the pre-fight weigh-in Bisping, who has main-evented and co main-evented several UFC cards, said: “I’m a professional fighter, not an idiot in the schoolyard, making up silly rhymes and jokes and stupid videos.

“This is a press conference, by the way, Jorge. I know it's your first time involved in something like this.

“Welcome to the big leagues. After this, you'll be back to the undercard, believe me.”

The dad-of-three went on to say: “I think he's massively underestimating me, and I’m looking forward to making a fool out of him.

“I’m going to do my talking with my fists - punches, kicks, knees, elbows, jiu-jitsu, wrestling. Half of that stuff, he doesn't know what it is.”

Rivera (18-7) told the press conference that his prefight antics were just a bit of fun to rile his opponent and that the videos had served a purpose.

But Bisping reckons his opponent should have spent “less time making stupid videos and more time in the gym”.

He said: “I'm excited to now be given the chance to shut Rivera up once and for all and highlight just how far out of his league he is.

“I’m too fast for him, I’m too technical, I’m a better wrestler, I’ve got better jiu-jitsu and I’m better looking.

“I’ve fought a lot harder opposition than Jorge Rivera. This is a free pay-day for me. I’m going to be laughing all the way to the bank.”
