A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being thrown across her bedroom by an electric shock.
The 31-year-old was plugging in her television on Sunday around 9pm, but was hit by ‘surplus current’ caused by a kink in an extension lead.
Fire crews were called to Belle Vue Street, off Johnston Street, Blackburn, by paramedics to make sure the house was safe.
Blackburn Fire Station crew manager Caroline Sturgess warned about the dangers of overloading plug sockets, explaining the woman had two extension leads, one into the next, with several appliances in each one.
