A MAN has been charged in connection with a £250,000 Lancashire burglary conspiracy.

Anthony Baldacchino, 41, of Rodney Street, Salford, is accused of conspiring to commit burglary in a dwelling between August 15 and November 4.

It is alleged that Baldachinno, with others, entered more than 20 family homes, mainly in Lancashire, and stole car keys before driving off with the vehicles.

The alleged offences were committed in Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Chorley and other places.

Police said the owners were often in other rooms, or asleep during the incidents.

The allegations centre on cars worth a total of £250,000 being taken from Lancashire, into the Manchester area, the majority stolen in October.

Police said they range from BMW sports coupes, to Minis and VW Golfs.

Baldachinno was charged late yesterday and remanded into custody to appear before Blackburn magistrates today.
