THE ground moved for some residents of Lancashire last night after an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck.
Residents were woken up just before 11pm after the tremor struck in Coniston, Cumbria, lasting for up to a minute.
Across Lancashire, it was reported to the U.S. Geological Survey by people who felt it in Blackpool, Carnforth, Fleetwood, Lancaster, Morecambe, Poulton-le-Fylde, Preesall and Thornton-Cleveleys.
Reports have come in from people as far away as Northumberland, south-west Scotland and the Isle of Man.
No damage or injuries have yet been reported.
