A CONVICTED sex offender from Pendle has been given one last chance by a judge to stop dodging a treatment programme.

Judge Andrew Woolman said he would give Jason Bullas, 39, a final opportunity to comply with the probation service’s sex offender programme.

Bullas, of Church Street, Barnoldswick, was convicted of four offences of sexual assault at Bradford Crown Court in February.

He was given a 36-month community order, including supervision for the duration of his sentence, and ordered to carry out 100 hours community service.

But Bullas failed to attend a number of probation appointments and was at risk of missing a sex offenders course, which starts next month.

Hannah Wood, for the probation service, said: “There has been no contact with the defendant since August 25.”

Burnley Crown Court heard Bullas had been given a previous warning about failing to comply with his order and sentenced to a three-week curfew.

He admitted the latest probation breaches.

Richard Hunt, defending, said his client had carried out nearly 90 of his 100 hours community service.

Bullas had encountered difficulties with the order as he lived in Barnoldswick and had to go for appointments in Keighley.

Sentence was adjourned until November 30.
