A BLACKBURN couple have denied child cruelty charges concerning their seven-month-old baby daughter who died last year.
Nafisa Karolia, aged 21, and 28-year-old Mohammed Karolia pleaded not guilty to two charges of cruelty to a person under 16, regarding their daughter Aliyaah Karolia, between November 26 2008 and June 15 last year.
She died last year.
The not guilty pleas were entered in a hearing at Preston Crown Court.
Both defendants were remanded on bail by Judge Anthony Russell QC.
They have conditions of bail to live in Meadow Close, Blackburn, not to apply for international travel documents and that their passports remain surrendered.
A trial has been fixed for January 31 next year.
