Following a successful first season in 2009, Scare Kingdom Scream Park, located at Hawkshaw Farm Park on the A59 Longsight Road, Clayton-le-Dale, re-opens to the public for the Halloween season from October 22 to November 6, 2010.

Created by AtmosFEAR! Entertainment Group, Scare Kingdom includes six new scary attractions with four horror haunts open to evening visitors and two daytime venues for families and children under 10.

Newsquest Northwest has joined forces with Scare Kingdom to promote their competition. Our lucky readers have the chance to win one of four pairs of VIP tickets to the scream park's exclusive preview night on Friday, October 15, from 6.30pm in this easy to enter giveaway.

Daytime attractions include Trick or Treat where youngsters can join friendly witch Hagatha and Spooky the Pumpkin for a 30-minute games, songs and story show before venturing off into the Labyrinth of the Lost Pirates, a swashbuckling treasure quest through a creepy corn maze to meet the ghosts of Captain Hendrik Decken and his scurvy-ridden boatswain, Ratilda Bilge.

After dark, Scare Kingdom becomes a nightmare world combining live scareactors, special effects, sounds and even smells to create a unique four-dimensional assault on the senses.

Evening attractions include Unhallowed Hill: No Rest for the Wicked where beneath the harvest, sewn in the blood of murderous criminals, insane psychopaths and the deeply disturbed, the restless spirits of Unhallowed Hill are stirring. Professor Octavius Highgate has sent his assistant deep into the cornfield to investigate the disturbances, but he hasn't come back and your task is to follow in his footsteps.

It’s playtime at Tingler's Toy Factory, for deep in the abandoned old toy factory, Hugo Tingler, better known as failed clown 'Grudge', has set up his devilish den of traditional twisted toys. Now they’re back, possessed with hate and ready to wreak revenge on those who cast them aside in favour of mass-produced unsatisfactory inadequates.

In Hellfire Hall a heart of hellish horror awaits the foolhardy who dare trespass in the Master's house. Explore the rotting rooms where Lord Dashwood's sinister servants dwell in the shadows and descend into the catacombs beneath Medmenham Abbey, where the Hellfire members await you. Hellfire Hall is an intense scare experience mixing extreme tactile effects, total darkness and claustrophobia with a shocking twist that is totally electric. Will you join the club?

Stir up a storm on The Cauldron where visitors can enjoy a whirling waltzer with strobe, smoke and sound effects before entering the The Wicked Witch Café where a spooky selection of seasonal hot and cold drinks, food and confectionery will be available.

Creative producer and TV presenter, Jason Karl, said: "Even before the last screams of the 2009 season had died out, our design team were busy planning new attractions for 2010, and this year we have six all new scare experiences, plus a horrific host of secondary entertainment to entertain thrill seekers, families and children."

Scare Kingdom also offers a variety of additional entertainment designed to ensure guests have an experience to remember including The Possessed Painting which comes to life before your very eyes and menacing street theatre characters sent to spread fear throughout the park.
