MORE than 40 people who have been out of work for a number of months are being given jobs at the new Sainsbury’s superstore in Colne.
Forty three of the 240 new jobs are being given to long term unemployed local people to help ease worklessness in the borough.
The retail giant joined forces with the town’s Job Centre Plus in Market Street to allocate the jobs to the most worthy candidates.
Amanda Morgan, having been unemployed for a year, has now been recruited as a restaurant assistant at the store’s café.
The 38-year-old said she could not wait to take up her new role.
