A NEW era has officially dawned at Padiham Primary School when guests young and old celebrated their move to a new £2.6million site.
Education bosses had wanted to relocate the school to one site to save travelling between the juniors, in Victoria Road, and the newer infants building in Burnley Road.
The environmentally-friendly new school, on the Burnley Road site, which includes six extra classrooms, a studio and library suite, also features a ground heat pump, solar and photovoltaic panels and rainwater collection points.
The juniors, constructed in 1909, will now be sold off by Lancashire County Council.
