A MAN involved in a 35-hour rooftop stand-off with emergency services is being hunted by police.

Adam Paul Corbett, 22, was made subject to an interim anti-social behaviour order in April which banned him from every rooftop in Hyndburn.

But despite the ASBO, police said Corbett went onto his roof in Clayton Street, Great Harwood, at 10pm on Wednesday, and did not come down until 9.30am yesterday when he left the scene.

Officers are now trying to track him down.

In April police said that whenever they visited his house, Corbett would climb out of a first floor window and onto his roof in Clayton Street, Great Harwood.

They said the police response, including the force helicopter, was leaving the force with huge bills.

After going up on the roof on Wednesday, police said they decided not to drain resources further by leaving an officer constantly at the scene.

The incident started at 10pm when officers called at his home, and they said Corbett went on the roof.

Negotiators, paramedics and fire crews were initially called to the scene.

As the incident continued into the following day, police said Corbett was seen drinking beer on the roof and using plastic sheeting for shelter.

Resources were then withdrawn, with police making regular checks.

Corbett is believed to have ended his vigil at 9.30am on Friday, but when officers called he had gone. Police said they were now seeking to arrest Corbett.

Great Harwood Sergeant Stuart Banks said: β€œIt is a real pain for the people living nearby. "It is also a significant drain on resources, and evidence of the costs involved will also be put before the courts when he is arrested.”
