The next meeting of Incredible Edible Rossendale will take place on Wednesday 12th May at Haslingden Library. Starting at 7.30pm, the meeting is open to existing members and people who are interested in finding out more and possibly become involved.
This community project has a number of aims, namely:
To promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging the people of Rossendale to grow and eat their own vegetables
To develop life-long healthy eating habits amongst children growing up in the Valley
To encourage local businesses to buy local produce for sale in their shops
To encourage people to support local businesses by buying from local suppliers (Incredible Edible Rossendale aims to create a list of residents who keep their own chickens and, therefore, have eggs for sale)
To have a positive effect on the environment: less travel by car = a lower carbon footprint
To make Rossendale a nicer, healthier place to live
