A CHILDREN'S arts festival is being planned for the summer to encourage children and their families to take part in creative workshops.
Rossendale Leisure Trust and Rossendale Arts Alliance, a group of local artists, have teamed up to start planning for the forthcoming festival.
A celebration will be held on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28, at Rossendale Museum, Rawtenstall, to bring all the participants together to celebrate their achievements and share their artistic experiences.
Gillian Smith, Rossendale Leisure Trust's arts development officer has been working with Arts Alliance to secure £29,000, from the Arts Council and Rossendale Borough Council, to deliver the festival.
She said: "This year promises to be a very exciting time for local artists and our community."
